West Regional Conference — event listing

This was the calendar entry for the conference of 19 and 20 October 2018, the last Mission Fest Toronto event in the record. It was held at the MBC Conference Centre, 121 Chisholm Drive, Milton, Ontario.

The archived version of this listing retains only its title; what is known about the conference comes from the organisation's news post about it, which describes a programme of MissionTalk plenary sessions and a theme drawn from the closing verses of Matthew's gospel. That account is on the news page for the conference.

For the two decades of conferences before it, see the archive.

What the listing contained

Event listings on the conference's calendar were short by design, and this one is four lines: MissionTalk plenary segments and an exhibit showcase, a regional leadership round table, speaker sessions, and a missions showcase with a speakers' forum. The venue is given as the MBC Conference Centre. A link invited readers to see conference details and register, and that link no longer leads anywhere.

Read against the fuller notice for the same event, the listing is the public-facing half of a two-part announcement: this page sold the format, the notice gave the dates, the address and the theme. Both were published in 2018 and both describe the same two days in Milton that October.

The calendar this sat in

The conference kept an events calendar that carried more than its own conferences, and the entries around this one show what the organisation had become by then: a conference in London, Ontario; a women's conference titled Life Happens — Women Inspiring Women; and a session called Expanding the Ekklesia. Those are other people's events, listed by a body that had moved from running one large weekend to pointing at a regional circuit.

None of those three listings survives with any content beyond its title, which is why they are not separate pages here — a title alone is a fact about the calendar rather than a subject. The one calendar entry that does survive with content is the God's Not Dead screening listing. They resolve to the conference archive, where the years that do have substance are set out in full.
